WW2 Propaganda Poster

  1. This graph shows that through the years, and the war, the economy spiked upwards and downwards. But towards the end it rises. This is because in the beginning of WW2 money was scraped from all sources, including the people, to wage war with the opposing forces, between the Access and the Allied forces. Because of the scrapping together of change, the War Bond was created. These were like promises to the people that if they would give money during the war, after the war, the money would be returned in full. Another reason was the propaganda. Because of propaganda people were willing to help their country in any way they could. Propaganda that was created during World War 2 was Why We Fight films and Rosy the Riveter. Why We Fight Films were created to show the public the reason why we fight, especially the solders. Rosy the Riveter was a propaganda figure used to inspire women to help by filling in the jobs that were vacant from the men who were fighting. Also, another attribute that was created was victory gardens and rationing. So The huge dropping and raising between the 1930s and 1940s are the times when these acts raised the economy with its saving and turning peoples wills to help their country, and the lows are when the country's resources were unable to sustain the heat of the war. After this time though, the country was able to work through the battle and heal its country, making the rise in the economy, until the ending of the war. H.I.G

  2. The changes in the graph can be explained by the desperate need for materials and workers and men to serve while not having much money due to the depression. Yet later on as you can see later on the econemy is going well because of all the support and an increase in jobs for men, women and children for war efforts. Scrap drives, victory gardens an education using the Why we Fight films, the self pride encouraging women to due their part in the war with Rosie the Riveter, these specifically helped the econemy. And now as you can see by the graph we're getting screwed over again. AN

  3. The graph shows how much money America needed for their economy. When the graph drops during the 1930's, it is because we had a really bad depression, the Dust Bowl stopped all the production and people didn't have enough jobs. The graph rises up in the middle of the war, because economy is going better and we needed lots of expenses for building war equipment, that's why America started rationing to have enough material for military purpose. There were more jobs for people, women and minorities started working for the war. Rosie the Riveter was created to help women work, the Bracero Program helped Hispanics work as farmworkers, and African Americans like the Tuskegee Airmen had jobs too. The propagande encouraged people to get involved in the war, and all of these points are the reason why the economy worked better during these years and the graph is rising. SR

  4. The Graph has a deep downhill in the economy. That's caused by the depression and the need for material for War production. The War Prodution Board was there to turn normal factory's that produced cars etz. into produciton of tanks, airplanes for war and war ships. War Bonds also helped the American government to raise 300 million to use on materials. Rationing was also bing. Blue and Red rationing. Blue for can food and Red for fresh food. That helped save money. Rosie the Riveter helped to to get the production in the factory's going as the man wer out fighting the war for the United States of America. MG

  5. This graph shows how much the money varied in the economy. There was a large decrease in the 1930's because of the great depression. There was an increase later on though because of more people being involved in working, and all of the propaganda posters that made them want to do it more. There was lots of different types of propaganda posters like US, Japanese, and German. And then there was also war bonds which was n effort by the US Government to raise 300 billion for the war effort. We also needed to do rationing because of the need to save money and food for the military. Victory gardens also helped with saving food for the military. MJ

  6. The graph shows us the productions, distribution and cosumtion of goods throughout the years. It was low in the 1930s because of the depression, not a lot of people where able to help with ww2 when it came down to buying bonds or helping in some form. It was way up in 1940-1950s because more people were much more patriotic and werent struggling with money anymore.

  7. The American economy has never been the same, they had ups and downs. After the jazz Age, Americans had lots of debts for all those new products that appear in that time, thats's what made the economy really bad, during the Great Depression, people didn't have enough money to survive. Dust Bowls everywhere. People moving to California.. that was the worst time of the American economy; and that's why the graph, decreases a lot. After the Great Depression, WW2 came,at first America created The neutrality acts, so America wan't involved in Europe's problems. Men went to war and women needed to stay home taking care of the family. To have a big army they needed people so Women went to work. Women were encouraged by Rosie the Riveter, a propaganda Women working for the Nation. To suport men in Europe, they created Victory gardens, in which they will grow their own food, so they could send can food to them. Also in that time they started rationing, so they could limit the availability of many products like meat and suggar. After the War the government made this movies called Why We Fight; to see American's involvment in the War.

  8. This graph show how the spending varied throughout the history of the United States. After the bumpy ride through the 30's and 40's (Due to the great depression as well as the two world wars) The graph shows a steady rise up to the 2010's. As gross product production increased so did the average spending. If predictions are right the spending will increase on and on.

  9. The graph shows where the US really went down hill. The depression caused people to lose their jobs, and caused a huge loss of money. In the early 1930's production started to go back up, this was because of the world tension and war between countries. WWII caused our economy to turn around, it gave the US a reason to raise production and gave jobs to the people. In the mid 1940's, the country was back to normal. Because of the war our economy has stayed more stable ever since. JN

  10. ACCORDING TO THE GRAPH, AMERICAS ECONOMY INCRESED BY A LOT BECAUSE OF THE WAR. BFORE THE WAR, THERE WAS NOT MUCH NEED TO BUY THINGS BECAUSE NO ONE HAD ANY MONEY DUE TO THE DEPRESSION. BUT DURING THE WAR THERE WAS MORE MONEY IN CIRCULATION BECAUSE THE U.S. WAS SELLING WAR GOODS TO OTHER COUNTTRIES AND WE HAD MORE WORKERS WORKING IN ORDEER TO END THE WAR AS SWIFTLY AS POSSIBLE.
