Signal Corps World War 2

  1. This video is propaganda because it gets you pumped for war, and shows how “you as the average worker are also helping to fight this war”. In the beginning of the video they start to talk about how we need to attack the enemy in order to protect our country. But then they get you all excited about being involved in the army, industry, and the weapon industry. They show how terrible the Nazis are, and how we need to be involved in the war as to prevent horrible conditions. They also show how ill prepared France was and because they were this way, they could not protect themselves from the Nazis. "A gun every 10 mins, a plane every 30 mins..." The arm behind the army.... must have been a genius slogan of that time. AT

  3. This video explains how the workforce behind the army was the true "Arm". What I think the video is trying to say is that the "arm" behind the army was the key to success during WWII. “A gun every 26 minutes a plan every 9 a tank every 12 minutes.” The speed of which the workforce did work was truly amazing. It also talked about how the military wasn't pretending they were a one man show. The sent telegrams to the workers and gave them adequate "praise" and responsibility for the work they had done. Overall I believe the video sums up the good work that the workforce did during the war. LTD

  4. In 1918, "war came of age." American industry was making the greatest production ever in industry! American indusrty was also determined to meet the Axis challenge! America needs everybody to participate. If France had been united and prepared, then there wouldn't have been negotiations for surrender. Now French industry works for the Axis. Japan's living standards were pitifully low. All down the production line, the Axis and the Unition Nation stand locked in battle. It said that it wil be the sweat of the American workers that brings us planes and guns and tanks. This is labor's war.It think that this is propaganda because this video tries to influence you to be involved in the war by saying such things as "this is labor's war", trying to let you know it takes hard work, and that you should be involved by saying "the sweat of American workers si what brings us guns, planes, and tanks."
