Why We Fight War Comes to America (1945)

  1. This is amazing. It shows that using kids can change a countries decision to ether to go to war or not. Also, when you show clips from the actual battles you can convince a nation to fight for their country. I wish they showed women in the clip working though. It would show that everyone can help and convince not only men but also women. And i liked how they convinced people by showing peace and then showing the conflict that can destroy peace. Also, they convinced people by putting a bit of history in it to add truth. And I liked how they showed the enemies face, Adolf Hitler. Over all, I believe that this clip is totally convincing and was most definitely propaganda. H.I.J.G

  2. This video gives a overall summary over the World War 1 and 2, even before that. It amazes me that before World War 1 there were more than 12.000 News Papers out and what equipment there was in those days. Equipments what we could have but don't, like a Pancake flipper as showed in the video. Also before that America was under a lot of building and while building they developed new more modern buildings and strategies so they rebuilded over and over again. After the War of World War 1 America did not want to go into a second war as the two axes were to far away.
Newspaper came out and over the Radio they got to know, what I thought was funny, that a Funny little man, Hitler came to power in Germany. Also that the so called Nazi party took over the people. That's when America then formed the Neutrality act to stay out of the war and don't risk there country and life of there man. 95% of the people wanted no war. 1938, 85% then said yes to increase army power as they wanted to have a back up if Germany should attack. 1939 85% said that Germany has the fold of the uprising WW2.
57% agreed on the change of the Neutrality act that now they would sell more armor to the countries that needed the support . Those are all numbers that show me that the number of people who don't want war goes down and the number for the people who wanted war the number raised.
As the Germans took more and more land and countries to increase their "Lebensraum", Living space it showed that hundreds of German people in Brazil lived like they were in Germany, they raised Schools with the Nazi Books and more. 14 out of 20 Americans wanted now to risk war if needed.
What would happen if America did nothing against when the Nazi's took over Europe and Asia, and the Japanese took over Asia and Australia?
That would give a total increase of the Axis power as America only would have a army of 3/10th and the Axis power a army of 7/10th.
That meant that America needed to step in and do something against it what then happend after Japan attacked on the Pearl Harbor base on Hawaii.
So the video definitely shows the propaganda that was ongoing and the numbers show how Americans thought about the War.

My 2nd thought is that the History book says that Japan attacked Pearl Harbor between 7pm and 9pm, and the movie says that Japan attacked between 1pm and 3pm. What? :D

  3. This video is really cool, I've never knew how WW2 affected America from their point of view. America is who it is because all the people that came from diferent countries, all this people brought their ideas and culture and made the United States how it is now. Onces America fought WW1 in 1917 Americans learned and didn't want to be involved in any other war. The US army was reduce from 3,700,00 people in 1918 to 134,000 in 1925. The US at first didn't care that much on Europe or Asia they were isolating themselves and living their own happy lifes. When they hear about Hitler, Mussolinni or this Japanese Emperor coming into power they start worring a little bit, they asked the people if the US should be involved in any war or conflict, and most of them said no. They did the Neutrality Act in 1935, not saling munitions to other countries unless they came with their own ships and pay in cash right in the moment. They found out that German Americans were supporting Hitler in the US so they increase their army form 1,5 billion to 81 billions dollars in a few years. Britain was attacked by the Germans so The US help them sending armies and ships. The Us didn't want to fight the Axis power because they had 7/10 of the world army and Americans had 3/10, so it wasn't worth it.

Step by step the Axis powers were taking over the world. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, Americans had to do something to respond because they attacked their territory. In this video they show how Americans felt in WW2 with another point of view.
